WHO considers antibiotic resistance to be one of the biggest threats to global health, food security, and development today. Antibiotic resistance can affect anyone, of any age, in any country and occurs naturally, but misuse of antibiotics in humans and animals is accelerating the process.

Join us for a 90-minute fireside chat with Bill Burns, former CEO of Roche Pharma, to speak about the challenges of antibiotic resistance and potential mitigation strategies.

William M. Burns
William M. Burns spent 28 years working for Roche Pharmaceuticals culminating in his tenure as CEO from 2001 to 2009. He has served as a director and trustee for many organizations, including Roche, Genentech, the Wellcome Trust Ltd., and the Institute of Cancer Research London. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow.
