FAQs about the shutdown of the XING EventManager

We would like to inform you that the EventManager will be discontinued on 31 March 2023. Until then, event organisers will be able to make full use of all functions. Events that take place after 31 March can no longer be entered with immediate effect. There will also be restrictions on the creation of new accounts. You will find all information and tips on how to proceed in the following FAQs.

Questions for event organisers

Will the EventManager remain as known until 31 March 2023 or will functions be discontinued step by step?

All functions within the EventManager will remain fully usable until 31 March 2023. From now on, it will no longer be possible to create events with an event date after 31 March 2023. It is also no longer possible to create a new account in the EventManager. If you are an existing customer and would like to use a new employee for events that are already active, please contact our support team at events(at)xing-events.com.

I have set up events for Q1 2023, but still in draft mode. Can I still handle these events via the EventManager?

Yes, you can handle these events via the EventManager. All functions and support are available to you as known.

I have events that will take place after March 31, 2023 already live and registration/ticket sales are underway. What happens to these events until March 31, 2023 and after? 

These events will run through EventManager including registration, sales and payment processing until March 31, 2023. From April 1, 2023, the ticket store will be closed and there will no longer be active access to the user interface. Therefore, you must download and save all data and select a new provider which you will continue to process the respective event by March 31, 2023 at the latest. Please clarify with the new provider how to migrate the participants data to the new tool. Please also use our help pages for this purpose.
One more note: You will receive your organizer invoice for the month of March 2023 as usual by e-mail at the beginning of April 2023, otherwise you will still have access to your invoice until 15.04.2023.

Will support be available until 31 March 2023?

Support will be available to all customers in the known quality until 31 March 2023 for questions that arise. Services within the scope of Professional Service Packages that you have already purchased will also be provided to the usual extent until the end of Q1 2023. New service packages can no longer be booked with immediate effect.

Until when can I re-book services?

Our product is fully available to you for events that are created and carried out until 31 March 2023. The booking of special services (e.g. Professional Service packages) is no longer possible with immediate effect. Already booked packages will be realised as agreed until 31 March 2023.

Can I create a new account in EventManager if I am not yet a customer?

No, it is no longer possible to create new Event Manager accounts.

As an existing customer, can I add new colleagues to take over the organisation of my events?

It is possible to add new users who do not currently have an account until the end of October if you already have an active EventManager account in your company. This will no longer be possible from November onwards.

How long will the XING Events API be available?

The XING Events API - like all EventManager functions - will be available to you until 31 March 2023.

I have paid for services in advance and would like my money back.

In this case, please get in touch with your contact person in Sales.

How long can I view and download my invoices?

You can view and download all invoices until 15 April 2023. We recommend that you do this promptly for all events that have already been processed and file the invoices digitally. 

How can I back up participant data/contacts from past events?

You can download the data of your participants from the EventManager. Please note the provisions of the DSGVO regarding data storage and the requirements for further contact (double opt-in).

Can I migrate my participants to another ticketing provider? If yes, how?

You can download the data of your participants from EventManager. Please discuss the migration of the data with the respective new provider.

Are there any recommendations for alternative ticketing providers? Is there a provider who also does pre-event payouts?

The requirements vary greatly depending on the event and the target group; therefore, we will not make a specific recommendation. Once you have selected a provider, please use our help section on the website. There you will find extensive help on data export and other topics. If you still have questions, we will be happy to advise you.

Who informs the ticket buyers? How can I inform my participants?

Please inform your ticket buyers and registrants yourself. You can send an email to all registered participants of your events via the EventManager. Alternatively, you can download the data of your participants from the EventManager and send them an email via your own email tool.

What happens to outstanding ticket purchases and complaints (payment and invoice corrections) after 31 March 2023?

We will ensure that any outstanding issues are resolved beyond 31 March 2023.

I have already set up or made live events with event dates after 31 March 2023. Can I still process these events via the EventManager?

No, unfortunately this is no longer possible. Please look for a new provider to handle these events. For necessary steps such as data export etc., you will find assistance on our website in the help section. Questions for attendees

I have bought or registered for tickets for an event after 31 March. Will these bookings remain valid? 

In general, the bookings remain valid. Your event organiser will inform you about the further procedure. 

How can I query and delete my data? 

You cannot do this yourself. To do so, please contact our support at support(at)xing-events.com.
