    Option 1: Transportation offered by FBN - only from/to main train station in Munich

    Going to Tegernsee (transportation from central Munich)

    FBN will provide buses from central Munich (Pre-Summit hotel: NH Deutscher Kaiser) to the conference venue and hotels at the Tegernsee.

    • April 29th - 09:00 (departure) - 10:30 (arrival at conference location with stop at Seehotel Überfahrt)

    Leaving Tegernsee

    FBN will provide buses from the conference venue / hotels to Munich main train station only at certain hours. All other travel to the airport and city center has to be self-arranged. 

    • May 1st - 18:00 (departure at Wildbad Kreuth) - 19:30 (arrival at main train station) 
    • May 2nd - 8:00 (departure at Wildbad Kreuth) - 9:30 (arrival at main train station)


    We will ask for your mode of transportation and arrival time shortly before the summit - in case of delays we will not be able to delay our transport. You will need to take public transportation (please see below: self-arranged transportation).


    Option 2: Self-arranged public transportation to/from main train station and airport:

    1.TRAIN: Munich airport <-> Munich central station: Take the S-Bahn lines S1 or S8 to Munich central station. Travel time is 45 minutes. From there you have to change trains to Tegernsee (see below). http://www.s-bahn-muenchen.de/s_muenchen/view/fahrplan/efa.shtml

    2. TRAIN: Munich central station <-> Tegernsee: Take the train from Munich central station to the town Tegernsee. Travel time is 1 hour. (train schedules in German and English).

    3. TAXI: Tegernsee <-> hotel/conference venue: Take a taxi from the train station Tegernsee to the hotels (7 minutes to the Seehotel Überfahrt and 15 minutes to the conference venue and hotel Wildbad Kreuth). (please see taxi numbers below)


    Transportation in Munich and Greater Munich

    Deutsche Bahn

    DB Bahn manages passenger travel within Germany and is responsible for the managing, ticketing, servicing and running of all German Intercity-Express, EuroCity, Intercity and Regionalbahn trains, and many commuter-oriented urban Stadtschnellbahn (generally abbreviated as S-Bahn) networks within Germany.



    The Munich Transport and Tariff Association or MVV is the transit authority of the city of Munich. Its jurisdiction covers the city and its surrounding area, responsible for the Munich S-Bahn, underground and busses.The MVV coordinates transport and fares in areas comprising the city of Munich and surrounding districts including Tegernsee.


    Munich Airport
    Munich Airport is located 28.5 km (17.7 mi) northeast of Munich. It is connected to the city by Munich S-Bahn lines S1 and S8. The ride takes approximately 45 minutes. Furthermore, a scheduled bus service (MVV line 635) connects the airport within 20 minutes to the Freising railway station. The Airport is accessible via nearby Motorway A92, which connects to Motorway A9 and Munich's ring motorway A 99.
