hosted by the Institute for Employment Research (IAB)

Institute for Employment Research (IAB)

Start: 25 Jan 2018

End: 26 Jan 2018

  • Overview

The workshop presents recent research results on unemployment and well-being. Major topics are

    • the impacts of unemployment on cognitive, psychological and emotional well-being as well as on health,
    • resilience, coping resources and coping strategies,
    • subjective well-being, job search and labor market policies,
    • methodological progress in the collection of data on subjective well-being,
    • study design and causal identification of well-being effects.

While many studies have already analyzed the relationship between unemployment and well-being, numerous questions remain, which have so far been inadequately answered and which are the topic of recent research. The workshop will provide a forum for discussing these latest results and potential policy consequences.
